PL_common_read-366x550How do I get a copy of the book?

All incoming freshmen will receive a book in their welcome box which is being mailed out in early August. Any faculty or staff who would like a copy of the book to incorporate it into their classroom activities or with a group of students should fill out a Book Request Form.

I received a book from Mason. Why?

All incoming freshmen are receiving a book as part of the Mason Reads common reading program. Throughout the year you will see this book integrated into programs, events, and classroom activities around campus.

Now that I have the book, what do I do with it?

Read it! You are encouraged to have read the book by Preamble in August 2021.  Your entire class is reading this book together, and you’ll find it is a great tool to share many common experiences both in the classroom and around campus.

I need an electronically accessible version of the book. What should I do?

Please contact New Student and Family Programs at 703-993-2475 or orientu@gmu.edu.
