Leadership Themes
Tom Rath and Barry Conchie outlined four domains of leadership essential to a strong team.
These themes are executing, influencing, relationship building, and strategic thinking. Rath and Conchie explain that individuals do not need to be well-rounded, but teams should be.
In Fall 2014, Mason will coordinate specific programming around these themes. We hope you will be able to participate the increase your well-being and build upon your strengths.
Executing (September 29 to October 5)
Achiever, Arranger, Belief, Consistency, Deliberative, Discipline, Focus, Responsibility, & Restorative
These people make things happen! Executers possess the ability to get things done, transforming ideas to reality.
Influencing (October 6-12)
Activator, Command, Communication, Competition, Maximizer, Self-Assurance, Significance, Woo
People strong in influencing are able to sell ideas to others. These people take charge and speak up to create buy-in.
Strategic Thinking (October 13-19)
Analytical, Context, Futuristic, Ideation, Input, Intellection, Learner, Strategic
Strategic thinkers absorb, analyze, and synthesize information. These people think about what could be, focusing on the future.
Relationship Building (October 20-26)
Adaptability, Developer, Connectedness, Empathy, Harmony, Includer, Individualization, Positivity, Relator
Relationship builders bring people together. These people find ways to create strong groups and empower individuals.
